Keep it entertainment
Every mode is built with a margin in the site's favour. Over a long enough run, players put in more than they take out — that is how the site pays for itself, and no pattern, timing trick or "due" streak changes it.
Treat anything you stake as spent the moment you stake it. If you are playing to win back something you already lost, that is the moment to stop.
Signs it has stopped being fun
- Risking more than you can comfortably lose, or items you wanted to keep.
- Playing to recover losses instead of for entertainment.
- Borrowing, selling things, or using money set aside for something else.
- Hiding how much you play from friends or family.
- Feeling anxious or low when you are not playing.
- Play getting in the way of sleep, school, work or relationships.
Tools you can use
Take a break
Ask support for a temporary lock and name the length. Your items and balance stay exactly where they are.
Self-exclude
Close your account to play from your support page. It applies promptly and is not reversed during the period you chose.
Hide your stats
A privacy toggle on your profile removes your activity from the live feed and the leaderboards.

Protecting under-18s
Accounts are tied to Steam and are for adults only. If you share a device with someone under 18, consider filtering software such as FamiSafe or Qustodio, and don't save your Steam login on shared machines. If you think a minor is using the site, tell us through support.
Keeping your account safe
Most losses in the TF2 community come from scams, not from play. We will never ask for your Steam password or authenticator codes, and staff will never ask you to send items to a personal account. Check every trade offer comes from a bot listed on your withdrawal screen, and check the domain in your address bar — fake copies of TF2 sites are common.
