How a battle differs from opening solo
In a case battle everybody opens the same cases, in the same order, at the same time. That removes the usual complaint about unboxing head-to-head — nobody got a different table, and nobody went first. What varies is only which item each player draws from each case, and the totals are compared at the end.
The entry cost is the combined price of the cases in the battle. The prize is everything all players unbox across the whole battle, credited in coins to whoever wins.
Formats
A battle runs as 1v1, 1v1v1, 1v1v1v1, or 2v2 teams. In team format the two team members' unboxed totals are added together and the higher pair takes the pot. Shared battles have no single winner at all: the total value everyone unboxes is pooled and split evenly, which turns the battle into a group buy rather than a contest.
Magic mode inverts the rule — the player who unboxes the least total value wins. It makes cheap drops valuable and completely changes which cases are worth picking.
The creator's discount
Whoever creates a battle can cut the entry cost by between 20% and 80%. Everything unboxed still counts at full value, so a discounted battle is genuinely cheaper to enter for every player in it, not just the creator. Discounted battles fill faster, which is usually the reason to set one.
Joining and filling
Open battles are listed in the lobby with their case list, format and cost. If a battle does not fill, bots can be called in to complete it so the round still runs. Every case opened in a battle draws from the same Random.org-backed system as a solo opening, and every round can be verified afterwards.
What is Magic mode?
The rules flip: the player who unboxes the least total value wins.
What does the discount do?
The creator can cut the entry cost by 20-80%, while everything unboxed still counts at its full value.
What is a shared battle?
There is no single winner — the total value everyone unboxes is split evenly between the players.
Does everyone open the same cases?
Yes. The case list and the order are identical for every player in the battle, so the only variable is which item each player draws.
What happens if a battle does not fill?
Bots can be called in to complete it, so the battle still runs rather than sitting open indefinitely.
Who wins a 2v2?
The two team members' unboxed totals are added together, and the higher pair takes the whole pot.
