The hand
Bust is blackjack played for Team Fortress 2 item value. You are dealt two cards, the dealer shows one, and you get closer to 21 than the dealer without going over. Number cards count face value, picture cards count ten, and an Ace counts eleven until that would bust the hand, at which point it counts one.
A standard win pays 2× your bet. A blackjack — an Ace with a ten-value card on the first two cards — pays 6:5. Going over 21 loses the hand immediately, regardless of what the dealer then does.
Hit, stand, double, split
You can double on any first two cards, which doubles your bet in exchange for exactly one more card. You can split once on a pair, playing the two cards as separate hands with a matching bet on the second. Doubling after a split is not offered. Beyond that the choices are the usual ones: hit for another card, or stand and pass to the dealer.
Insurance
When the dealer's up card is an Ace you are offered insurance. It costs half your bet and returns double that stake if the dealer turns over blackjack, which nets you back roughly what you staked on the hand. If the dealer does not have blackjack, the insurance stake is lost and the hand plays out normally.
A shuffle you can check
The shoe is generated from a server seed that is hashed and shown to you before the hand is dealt, alongside a client seed you control. After the seed rotates, the real server seed is published, and re-running the published formula against both seeds reproduces the exact card order you were dealt. Because the hash was committed first, the deck cannot have been arranged after your bet.
Can I split and double?
Split once on a pair, double on any first two cards. No doubling after a split.
What is insurance?
A side bet offered when the dealer shows an Ace. It costs half your bet and returns double that stake if the dealer turns over blackjack.
Is the deck stacked?
No. The shoe comes from a seed hashed and shown to you before the hand.
What does blackjack pay?
6:5. An ordinary win pays 2× your bet.
Can I double after splitting?
No. Doubling is offered on the first two cards of a hand only.
How do I know the deck was not arranged?
The server seed is hashed and shown to you before the deal, and published in full after it rotates — re-running the formula reproduces the same card order.
